Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Lets first put this verse in perspective. Hezekiah has allowed Babylonians to enter the palace and see everything he had. The enemy had been allowed access to things that should have never been exposed.

The Prophet Isaiah has reprimand the king for his actions. And now the people of God are being reproved for their unbelief and distrust of God. Even though they went by the names given them from Jacob, their hearts were removed from God.

They are encouraged to wait on God. But the waiting implies, of course, the expectant attitude of faith. That God will see to their welfare.

This waiting does not imply inactivity, or want of personal exertion; it implies merely that our hope of aid and salvation is in The Lord.

When we study the eagle, we see that when he takes to the air, his wings carry him far above the chaos on the ground.

In fact, he uses the very air currents to lift him up that otherwise on the ground can cause destruction.

The rushing mighty wind of Pentecost has assured the Church of victory as we trust God even in the trying times that come. God gives us strength, if we seek Him in the way of His appointment - a promise which has been verified in the experience of his people in every age.

As we allow the refreshing wind of God blow over us, we will be renewed and our race will be won.

Psalm 84:7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

As we go, let us go in the strength of God. Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit!!
