This Great Gospel
In Matthew 16:18, Jesus promised that on Simon Peter's confession He would build His Church, and the gates of hell would not prevail. Any promise that God gives us will be challenged by the enemy of our soul, the devil. If there is one thing I can say about satan he is patient and very methodical. Very seldom will he rush into something, he makes a plan and with painstaking precision he begins his attack. Ask yourself, what better way to stop the message of hope, the good news, than to stop the messenger. Jesus commanded His Church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. This Gospel has the power to change the world. But if we don't do it the way The Master instructed us, we are weak, and helpless to effectively accomplish this Great Commission. Jesus knew we would have to have help, and the help would have to be from a source not of this world. He instructed His Disciples to return to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of The Father. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Sadly, much of what we do today has been done in the power of good intentions. But man's programs will never replace the moving of The Holy Spirit. Jesus, send the wind and the fire again to Your Church, fill us with the power of The Holy Spirit so in these last days, we once again see the fruit of what Jesus was talking about. Acts 2:46-47 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, [47] Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. God Bless, Pastor Buddy Cole.
