favorite verses

The favorite verse we will look at in this segment comes from Sis. Lydia. Her favorite verse is John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

A lot of messages preached today put special emphasis on whosoever and everlasting life. But as I reflected on this verse it occurred to me that if it had not been for the love that The Father had for us, there would have been no Son given as the sacrifice for our sin.

Every good and perfect gift that comes to us is from the deep seated love God has for His creation.

It was the love God has for His people that turned His ear to hear their cry form Egypt. Deuteronomy 7:8 But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

It was His love that would send Him to appear to Moses in a burning bush.

It was God’s love that brought deliverance to Israel and that same love we live in today.
